Elros Tar-Minyatur ruled the Númenóreans for four hundred years and ten. For to the Númenóreans long life had been granted, and they remained unwearied for thrice the span of mortal Men in Middle-earth; but to Eärendil's son the longest life of any Man was given

"I think you underestimate it!"

Elros retorts, and leans against him, forcing him to hold him or topple over.

[seawanderer]

Nope, no toppling over. He curls an arm around Elros again, supporting him and leans against him in return.

"I have known him longer, do you not think I should know better?"

[tar_minyatur]

"You have known him longer, but have you actually talked to him recently? Because he's awful chatty, with Elrond and me."

Elros is quite happy to be held.

And if it lets him try and see if he can do Elrond's trick and funnel a little healing at him, well. WHY NOT.

[seawanderer]

"...You know I have not." At least not directly.

He sighs and nudges Elros.

"Save your energy, yonya."

[tar_minyatur]

An evil grin.

"I could always ask for you, you know. Osse likes these shores a lot."

He sniffs and doesn't stop.

"But I want to."

[seawanderer]

He flinches at the idea. "No! Please do not do this thing, Elros!"

He already knows that when it is time for him to leave, he'll have to speak with the Maia, or the Vala in charge of the waters as is. Before then is just asking for trouble.

...But Elros is so kind, and warm, so he sighs and curls around him.

"You shouldn't," he can't help but protest again.

"Wimp"

He says fondly and hugs tight.

"Maybe. But since you're in my domain, I think I get to decide what I want to do."

[seawanderer]

"Survivor," he retorts lightly.

He sighs then and snuggles against his fosterling, knowing he really can't deny Elros anything. Even if it might end in his own death.

But if it endangers Elros or Elrond and their families...

...Elros seems so sure and he's so tired of fighting that he eventually grumbles.

"As you command, Sire." Fully expecting the promised punch and not particularly minding.

"Wuss."

Elros promptly punches him, as promised, although he doesn't let go, either.

"Totally going to do that every time you say that, by the way."

[seawanderer]

"Wanderer," for he remembers doing that much at least.

Maglor doesn't shy from the punch nor let go, or even move away, though he does sag against Elros with a breath of a laugh.

"With you giving orders, how can I call you anything less?"

[tar_minyatur]

"Alright, I'll give you that one."

Elros snorts and hugs him tighter.

"Now you're being an ass on purpose, atya"

[seawanderer]

Maglor grins and kisses him on the forehead, snuggling contently.

"You brought me back to life, yonya. More than once. Were you expecting any less?"

[tar_minyatur]

"I'm pretty sure my mariners dragging you to the healing houses only counts as once..."

[seawanderer]

He brushes a gentle hand over Elros' hair.

"That was the second time. The first was when we first met."

[tar_minyatur]

Elros squints up at him.

"You looked pretty alive then to me"

[seawanderer]

"Physically," he agrees, nudging him. "You brought light back, and a reason to live."

[tar_minyatur]

"Now you're being overdramatic!"

He snorts and leans against his shoulder.

"I love you too, you ass."

[seawanderer]

He can't help but grin, fond, and presses a kiss to Elros' temple again.

"I am a bard, yonya. That is what I do!"

Maglor will just wrap his arms firmly around him in a warm embrace.

"I was unaware 'professional ass' was part of being a bard."

Elros retorts, but doesn't protest the hug.

"You know. You could have asked us for help, rather than just kill the guards."

[seawanderer]

"We go everywhere even when we aren't necessarily wanted. We listen and we observe, so that we might find inspiration for our next piece. If that means making an ass of ourselves, well. That's just part of the fun."

And then he flinches and sighs. "We could not take the chance you would be harmed in the process. It was our burden to bear, not yours, and you had been tainted too much by us as it was."

Elros snorts, amused.

"Explains a lot about you."

He leans against him.

"Or you could have, you know. Maybe got your hands on them legitamately. After all, if anyone had a right to those things, it was Elros and I."

[seawanderer]

Maglor grins faintly and leans against him in return. "It does, doesn't it?"

He shudders at the idea, eyes closing. "Elros...There was too much uncertainty. Once the Oath reawakened, rational thought wasn't very close to the forefront of our minds. I was able to stop Maedhros once, out of all the years we had been fighting."

[tar_minyatur]

"That much was clear, because it was a stupid idea."

Elros snorts.

"Honestly, we should have stayed with you, I'm sure between us we could have knocked some sense into your heads."

[seawanderer]

He sighs and rests his cheek against Elros' head.

"...We did what we did and it is in the past. I am here now." And he's resigned to staying put.

So resigned.

Utter torture.

The worst torture.

"Here you are." Elros agrees. "And you aren't leaving."
