Elros Tar-Minyatur ruled the Númenóreans for four hundred years and ten. For to the Númenóreans long life had been granted, and they remained unwearied for thrice the span of mortal Men in Middle-earth; but to Eärendil's son the longest life of any Man was given

"So you should clearly have no complaints~"

"Should and reality do not always match or mesh together, yonya."

"But they do in this case, surely~"

Elros is ridiculous and Maglor can't help but laugh.

"They do."

[tar_minyatur]

He is, aren't you proud?

"Then you can't argue, clearly!" Elros grins at him smugly. "Elrond will agree with me when he gets here, just you wait. In the meantime, you'd better get yourself healed up, or I'll get yelled at for not looking after you."

So very proud.

He hums softly, seeming to consider it. "Can't I? My brothers would disagree." So many arguments and disagreements, much of which were just for the sake of arguing!

He heaves a long-suffering sigh. "Then help me up, I should like to take a walk around, if that is permitted as you say." And he's still tired, though he won't say as much.

"I'm not your brothers though~"

He grins at the sigh.

"Sure. I'll show you around. We can even go down to the shore, if you want."

[seawanderer]

"Thankfully!" he quips, fond. He loves his brothers, but Elros is far better a ruler than they ever were.

Maglor accepts his doom, as it were, and stands- only to drape an arm over Elros' shoulders for support and to keep him close.

"...If I get swept away, I lay the blame on you." He teases, though is a little wary anyway. Ulmo hadn't drowned him bringing him to the island, so why would he strike now?

Elros sniffs, cheerfully, leading him out the side door.

"If you get swept out I'll come after you." He retorts.

"Unless it's by pretty ocean lady maia. Wouldn't want to make my wife jealous!"

He chuckles, going willingly enough.

"Do not place yourself in danger on my account! One should never make one's beloved jealous."

Maglor has good advice sometimes!

"The very worst kind of danger."

Elros agrees solemly.

"I'll just have to appeal to Lady Uinen to deal with them instead."

Laughter lights his gaze and he hums in agreement. He pauses when they get outside, just looking around, listening. Fascinated to see for himself this world his fosterling has built.

"You have been hard at work, yonya."

Elros beams.

"We have! We've had help - Gil-galad sent some of his people, and there's been folk from Tol Eressea, too. Some of the Released thralls are reluctant to hurry home, and they've been lingering with us too. But most of it is ours. Do you like the design? I tried to incorporate that bit on water pipes that you seemed so keen on."

[seawanderer]

He presses a kiss to his fosterling's temple with a smile.

"I am glad they have been welcome and are willing to help."

Even some Released thralls! His hold on Elros tightens with pride.

"It is a good design. And I am glad for the pipes!" They make life easier!

"I decided I'd turn no one away." Elros says, pleased.

"Well, I mean, within reason, obviously. But I said, when we set out, that we'd welcome anyone who wanted a new life here, human or not! Although Osse says that the Elves who come here risk being afflicted by sea-longing if they stay too long, so I don't expect to see too many of them staying, once the building is done. But you will, I hope?"

He grins slightly, understanding Elros' meaning.

"Even still, not many share your opinion, off this island. Not enough to follow through and craft such a shelter."

'Osse says' sends a shiver of unease through him, but even that Maia had apparently decided against drowning him.

"I do not thinking it would be sea-longing that would cause me to fade. And I already agreed to stay so long as you and yours are not placed in extra danger from my presence."

"Eeeh." Elros grins. "We'll take advantage of all the skills such a policy brings then."

Osse's cool, not!dad. He's just as restless as Elros.

"Good! And this way Elrond can stop worrying about you for if he knows where you are."

[seawanderer]

"Use what you get," he approves.

YesbutWATERMAIA.

He ducks his head sheepishly. "Neither of you should worry about me. Worry over your people, your family. I will be here, watching after your safety as best I can.""

"It's what you taught us!" He grins.

Awesome surfing buddy tho!

"Too bad." He elbows him. "Coz we do."

Scary!

He feigns a wounded sound, staggering dramatically at the elbow to his side. "You should be crueler to me!"

But he loves this bright boy he stole, and while he complains frequently, it is never loudly, nor heated.

That's what adrenaline's for!

"Weelll. I could turn you loose on my kids?" He offers with a grin.

Maglor laughs softly, leaning back against Elros.

"You have already done so!"

[tar_minyatur]

"Oh true." He nods solemnly. "But only on the youngest two. You haven't met the elder one yet!"

[seawanderer]

"Hm," he narrows his eyes with mock suspicion.

"I suspect you already intend to change that. Indeed, I would hardly be able to count on avoiding any of your family if I intend to stay!"

Elros answers with a wide-eyed look of innocence that fools no-one.

"What sort of father would I be to not allow my children full access to their grandfather?"
