And love grew between them, as little might be thought
Open Post

Elros Tar-Minyatur ruled the Númenóreans for four hundred years and ten. For to the Númenóreans long life had been granted, and they remained unwearied for thrice the span of mortal Men in Middle-earth; but to Eärendil's son the longest life of any Man was given

And then he flinches and sighs. "We could not take the chance you would be harmed in the process. It was our burden to bear, not yours, and you had been tainted too much by us as it was."
no subject
"Explains a lot about you."
He leans against him.
"Or you could have, you know. Maybe got your hands on them legitamately. After all, if anyone had a right to those things, it was Elros and I."
no subject
He shudders at the idea, eyes closing. "Elros...There was too much uncertainty. Once the Oath reawakened, rational thought wasn't very close to the forefront of our minds. I was able to stop Maedhros once, out of all the years we had been fighting."
no subject
Elros snorts.
"Honestly, we should have stayed with you, I'm sure between us we could have knocked some sense into your heads."
no subject
"...We did what we did and it is in the past. I am here now." And he's resigned to staying put.
So resigned.
Utter torture.
no subject
"Here you are." Elros agrees. "And you aren't leaving."
Mwahahaha.
no subject
"For as long as you and yours are safe, I will stay."
no subject
"Then you're clearly never leaving."
He says cheerfully. "Excellent. This room is yours - it has direct access to the shore without needing to go through the palace, my family has the rooms directly down the hall, and we're far away from the main halls that no one will bother you unduly."
no subject
"You are far too kind to me, Elros."
no subject
Elros smiles.
"As you yourself was to me."

"So charming," he teases, though only half meaning it mockingly.

He grins at him.
"It's a useful skill, don't you think?"
no subject
"In the wrong hands it would be terrifying." Has been. He's seen the results.
no subject
"Oh probably, but it's in mine~"

"They do."

"Then you can't argue, clearly!" Elros grins at him smugly. "Elrond will agree with me when he gets here, just you wait. In the meantime, you'd better get yourself healed up, or I'll get yelled at for not looking after you."
no subject
He hums softly, seeming to consider it. "Can't I? My brothers would disagree." So many arguments and disagreements, much of which were just for the sake of arguing!
He heaves a long-suffering sigh. "Then help me up, I should like to take a walk around, if that is permitted as you say." And he's still tired, though he won't say as much.
no subject
He grins at the sigh.
"Sure. I'll show you around. We can even go down to the shore, if you want."
no subject
Maglor accepts his doom, as it were, and stands- only to drape an arm over Elros' shoulders for support and to keep him close.
"...If I get swept away, I lay the blame on you." He teases, though is a little wary anyway. Ulmo hadn't drowned him bringing him to the island, so why would he strike now?
