He's missed this, even the short time they've been apart, and it hurts, a little to know his brother will be - has been - bereft of this support for so long.

"We did. And I hope they keep you on your toes!"

Pause for dramatic impact...

"As do your own little ones. So tell me, brother, when were you planning on mentioning your crush on aunt Galadriel's pretty daughter?"

Every time they'd been apart, even for a day, Elrond remembers missing his brother. Just, not quite to the level he'd had to learn to endure with Elros' death. So he holds on now, curling into the warmth of the bond they share.

He chuckles, fond. "Oh, they do," he assures.

And then slooowly flushes. "...Ah...Considering I had yet to meet her when I saw you last?"

"Even better." He slings an arm conspiratorially over Elrond's shoulder.

"I hear you are very sweet together. Three children! You'll have to make sure to keep me appraised when we get home."

He leans comfortably against his brother, leaning his head against Elros' despite still pink ears and cheeks.

"They keep me on my toes," he answers fondly. Suddenly he doesn't mind his brother's teasing. "Celebrian is...light." So he'll add fuel to the fire of brotherly torment. "My twin sons cause just about as much havoc as we did, and Arwen makes every effort to appear sweet and innocent- all the way up until you realize she's encouraging her brothers to do worse!"

Elros laughs, slapping Elrond's shoulder fondly.

"It certainly sounds like one of us at least managed to fulfil Maedhros' dire wish that we would have children just like us one day!"

A little pang- he knows his brother never gets the chance to meet them. But he can talk about them, that will have to be enough.

Elrond laughs softly and nudges his brother pointedly. "We both do, Elros." So there!

"Lies! I'm sure my children will be the paragorns of good behaviour"

"That means nothing," he retorts, grinning faintly.

"Especially now when you have yet to meet them!"

"Ah, but then I can live in my fantasies of perfectly behaved angels for a little while longer!"

He chuckles, nudging his brother.

"Shall I write vivid accounts of their behavior then?"

"I can always accuse you of exaggerating!"

Elros nudges back fondly

"You already do!" Elrond retorts lightly.

"Because I know you as well as you know me!"

Elros laughs and moves to tickle.
